Hey! How is it going today?

My name is Koistya. I am professional (Microsoft Certified) web-based software engineer. Based in St. Petersburg, Russia. In the last few years I have developed and deployed a wide range of web applications including, but not limited to, team collaboration portals, community websites, online shopping carts, business-to-customer and business-to-business applications, services oriented applications. I love to work with cool and intelligent people and their success is my business.

Use my experience and innovation to help people who are interested in my expertise be more effective achieving higher levels of success in their work and business.

Technologies

I believe that it is hard to be competitive without using most recent and promising technologies nowadays.

Here is a list of stuff I use in my work:

Microsoft: Visual Studio 2008 Team Suite; SQL Server 2008; Windows Server 2008; Enterprise Library 4.0; ASP.NET, C#, F#, Silverlight, PowerShell Script, IE 8.

Adobe: Master Collection CS4.

Google: Google Apps, Google Analytics, Gmail and other stuff.

Amazon: Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2), Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3), SimpleDB.

Other: Web Services, XML, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript (with jQuery).

Web Development Philosophy

Just a few major points on the subject here:

  • Successful software development is possible only through proper planning. Without doing so, you may find the application took longer to build, wasn’t what you or the user expected, or worse yet was almost impossible to maintain.
  • Don't even start working on a web application without creating a prototype unless you know what you're doing.
  • Carefully choose right technologies for each particular project.
